Job Description
We are seeking a results-driven Controller to help support our continued growth. This person will take the lead role in our financial reporting process by ensuring the accurate and timely reporting of our consolidated financial results and implementing accounting best practices and policies across our regions.
We are looking for a self-motivated, analytical, and detail-oriented problem solver who is excited about rolling up their sleeves in an entrepreneurial and high-growth environment. You should demonstrate in-depth knowledge of GAAP and have extensive experience in a similar role. A first-class Controller will be someone whose expertise translates into optimized financial operations and increased profitability. The Controller will report directly to the CFO, will oversee the accounting team, and will work closely with department heads and regional leadership across the company.
Responsibilities
  • Implement and maintain consistent accounting policies and controls centrally and across regions in compliance with U.S. GAAP
  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end accounting close
  • Prepare monthly consolidated financial reporting package
  • Perform monthly balance sheet and income statement analysis to identify and analyze trends that require additional review or action
  • Perform internal audits and financial risk assessments, as well as facilitate intervention strategies
  • Review journal entries and monthly account reconciliations
  • Ensure timely and accurate billing, invoicing, expenses, and reimbursements
  • Lead and/or assist organization-wide initiatives (system migrations, improving processes & controls, compliance with accounting guidelines, metrics tracking, etc.)
  • Mentor and train the accounting team
  • Work directly with external auditors to ensure compliance with annual audits
  • Must have an understanding and experience with multi state sales tax
  • Research new ASC requirements and draft accounting whitepapers and policies
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a similar field
  • 5+ years of finance/accounting experience with increasing responsibility
  • 3+ years of staff management experience
  • Strong knowledge of all aspects of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Experience completing financial audits and tax requirements / deliverables
  • Superb organizational and time management abilities
  • Exceptional verbal and written communicator with ability to work across all levels of the organization
  • Must be a hands on contributor that also has a desire to train and mentor other team members
  • Demonstrate proficiency in researching and articulating sales tax regulations

Preferred
  • CPA or CFA certification
  • Public accounting experience
  • MSP experience
  • Previous experience with private equity or public reporting requirements is preferred
  • Understanding of Microsoft Dynamics and Business Central
  • Understanding of ConnectWise
  • Inherent desire to drive continuous improvement
