The Senior IT Project Engineer is primarily responsible for implementing new or expanding IT systems through projects requested by MSP clients. These projects may include new server implementations, server to M365 Azure/SharePoint Migrations, network deployments, and critical application implementations. The position requires working with new technologies and figuring them out quickly.  This person should have a good understanding of networking, Microsoft Cloud and Sever technologies, VoIP technologies, and cyber security technologies. It will be necessary to learn and understand client workflows and systems quickly. This position requires someone with a high capacity for self-evaluation and personal responsibility. A passion for problem solving is vital, with a focus on implementing proven repeatable solutions. The projects being implemented will often require working at non-standard hours so as not to interfere with client workflow.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Implementing new technologies in a manner consistent with Executech standards.  
  • Server Migration Projects
    • Server to Server Migrations
    • Server to M365 Azure/SharePoint Migrations
    • Local Sever to Hosted Server migrations.
  • Large area network deployments
  • Large VoIP Deployments
  • Assisting in scheduling, coordinating and monitoring of assigned projects.
  • Assisting with maintenance of client support systems including VoIP and network hardware.
  • Assisting as a floater in other areas of the business as needed.
  • Figuring out the more difficult IT problems MSP clients may encounter.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Interact daily with the clients to interpret their needs and requirements and represent them in the field.
  • Improve customer service, perception, and satisfaction.
  • Cooperate and communicate effectively with project manager and other project team members.
  • Escalate service or project issues that cannot be completed within agreed service levels.
  • Build specific knowledge of the customer and how IT relates to their business strategy and goals.
  • Build specific knowledge of IT Project tools and contribute to effective use of said tools.
  • Document internal processes and procedures related to duties and responsibilities
  • Entering time and expenses in ticketing system “in real time”.
  • Work through a daily schedule in ticketing system that has been established through the dispatch process
  • Work through project tickets and phases in ticketing system as assigned by a Project Manager
  • Track all work as service or project tickets into ticketing system
  • Review IT publications and online materials to remain up-to-date with current and future technologies emerging in the industry

Qualifications:
  • 5+ Years in the IT profession
  • 5+ Years’ experience working for an MSP (Managed Service Provider)
  • 5+ Years’ experience working with Microsoft Servers
  • 5+ Years’ experience with documentation systems and standards
  • 3+ Years’ experience working with M365 Azure
  • Interpersonal skills including telephony skills, communication skills, active listening and customer-care
  • Ability to communicate complex projects in a simple manner.
  • Ability to maintain and convey a positive and generous demeanor even under difficult circumstances.
  • Ability to change focus quickly and adapt to rapid changes.
  • Ability to work remotely.
  • Ability to self-evaluate and match your own performance against specific goals, timelines, guidelines, and parameters.
  • Technical awareness: Ability to match researched resources to technical issues appropriately.
  • Organizational Service awareness: Develop understanding of organization’s key IT services for which support is being provided.
  • Understanding of support tools, techniques, and how technology is used to provide IT services.
  • Typing skills to ensure quick and accurate entry of service request details
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-moving environment
